Consulting/Microsoft Purview
Microsoft Purview, set up to govern what you really have.
Purview can govern an estate far too big to govern by hand — once it is configured for that estate. We plan it, implement it and tune it, alongside a data platform we build or on the estate you run today.
What you end up with
- A governance plan agreed before anything is switched on
- Your estate scanned, classified and catalogued
- Sensitivity labels and policies that match how you work
- Lineage from source system to report and agent
- A team of your own able to run it
Why it stalls
Licensed is not the same as governed
Plenty of organisations already own Purview through their Microsoft licensing. Far fewer have it doing the job. Scanning gets switched on, thousands of automatic classifications appear that nobody reviews, the glossary stays empty, and sensitivity labels exist that nobody applies. The tool is there; the governance is not.
The hard part was never the configuration screens. It is the decisions underneath them: what counts as sensitive here, who owns which data, what a term means across departments, and who may see what. We work those out with you first, and then configure Purview to carry them out, so it governs rather than merely reports.
What we do
From a first scan to a governed estate
Assess and plan
Where your data is, what is sensitive, who owns it and what regulation applies, turned into a governance plan with priorities rather than a wish list.
Map the estate
Your sources scanned into one map — cloud services, on-premises databases and other clouds — so what you hold can be found rather than remembered.
Classify and label
Sensitive and personal data identified automatically, with labels that travel with it into reports, documents and AI tools.
Policy and access
Access, retention and data loss rules that apply themselves across the estate, instead of depending on people remembering to.
Catalogue and glossary
Data described in your organisation’s own terms, with owners named, so a person or an agent knows what a dataset means before using it.
Lineage
Where a figure came from and what happened to it on the way, shown from the source system through to the report or agent that used it.
How it runs
Decisions first, configuration second
Assess
What you hold, where it is, and what regulators, auditors and your own policies require of it.
Design
Classifications, labels, ownership and policies agreed with the people who will live with them.
Implement
Purview configured, sources scanned and policies switched on in stages, each one checked before the next.
Hand over
Your team trained to run it, with the decisions written down — or we stay on to run and tune it with you.
With our platform
Governance that starts from a described estate
Purview works on any estate, and we implement it on yours as it stands. Where it sits over a platform we have built, it starts a long way ahead: the platform is configured on private networking with access following your roles, sensitive data has already been marked in our Data Editor before anything moved, and the framework keeps lineage at every step. Governance becomes describing what is there, rather than excavating it.
Cloud Data Platform
The secure foundation, configured so a governance tool can see all of it from the first day.
Data Framework
Sensitive data identified up front, version-managed configuration, and lineage back to the source row.
Data for AI
Why the governance you put in place now decides what your agents can safely be given later.
Governance and AI
Decide what AI can reach before it reaches it
Copilot and the agents you build will find whatever their users can find. That makes yesterday’s loose permissions and unlabelled files today’s AI risk. Purview is how that risk is seen and controlled across Microsoft’s AI tools and your own: sensitive data labelled, labels respected, and use monitored.
Done before an AI rollout, it is a configuration exercise. Done after, it is an investigation.
